Phentermine

Phentermine

Information, study (s) and documentation related to Phentermine.
The phentermine is phenylethylamine, a derivative of amphetamine, primarily used as a medicine to reduce appetite and thus lose weight. It is prescribed for people with increased risk of medical complications due to their weight as opposed to weight loss for aesthetic reasons. Phentermine can be very dangerous if the effect is aesthetics.
Other name: phentermine CATIORESINE SULFONATE
Medical aspect : Anorectic by depression of the hunger center in the ventrolateral nucleus of the hypothalamus.
Peripheral action: slow and gradual mobilization of fat reserves.
WAMI has activity that may decrease the metabolism of serotonin cause of valvular heart disease and pulmonary hypertension observed in the fenfluramine-phentermine combination:
- Biochem Pharmacol 2000; 59:1611-1621.
Explaining the low activity sympathomimetic cardiovascular effects.
Nooanoaleptique: the fixation on a resin results in stimulating cortical less brutal.
Phentermine is available in most countries, even if it is listed in Table IV of the Convention on Psychotropic Substances of 1971. Many sites "spam" exist about it on the canvas.

Valvular
Increased frequency of valvulopathy in patients who took the phentermine in combination with dexfenfluramine or fenfluramine (treatment duration not specified)

The frequency of valvular heart disease may be overestimated and some may be due to other treatments affecting serotoninergic transmission in particular (inhibitor: the reuptake of serotonin and migraine):
Source: Am J Cardiol 1999 84: 304-308.
Valvular disease observed following the combination with fenfluramine may regress (15 patients followed for 6 months after stopping):
Source: Mayo Clin Proc 1999 74:1191-1197.
The risk of valvulopathy secondary to the combination fenfluramine / phentermine increases with dosage and duration of treatment:
